Is It TRUE?...........................I'm A Strong Contender For Lagos Speaker - Mudashiru Obasa

The Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, Mudashiru Obasa has been elected as a fourth timer in the Lagos State House of Assembly. In this interview with Naij.com, granted shortly after a “Thank You” tour of his constituency, he speaks about his intervention to become the Speaker of the Eight Assembly.  Q: What informs this “Thank You” tour? A: With the new development in politics and the reality on ground, I realized that there is need to get in touch with my constituent, the voters and say thank you to them. While campaigning, we went round to seek their votes and we got it. Therefore, there is the need to tell them thank you. Also to assure them that we will represent them adequately and give them qualitative representation as well as improve on infrastructural development. We have some infrastructures that are ageing, we will improve on them and bring the dividends of democracy to their door steps. Q: You have been voted in for the 4th...

I Will Perform 'Godwin' In Church Again- Korede Bello

Image
Sunday, April 5, the Mavin Records act Korede Bello was a guest minister at HICC (Harvesters International Christian Centre) in Lagos, where he performed his smash hit single, ‘Godwin.’    The performance generated mixed reactions from some of his fans and followers of Nigerian music. While some saw nothing wrong with him performing the song in a church, others felt he crossed the line as a secular act who mounted the sacred pulpit.    In an exclusive interview with NET, Korede Bello said he did not regret performing in church and if the opportunity presented itself again, he would gladly do it all over again. “If you are the pastor of a church and you invite me to perform the song, yes I will perform the song again. It’s God’s song and whatever is happening now is predetermined, people are talking about God that’s all that matters,’”  he began. When asked if the song was designed to be a gospel song, he said: “ From the inception of Godwin, I knew ...

See What Nigeria President Elect Is

Image
Born on December 17, 1942 in Katsina state, Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is a Nigerian politician who served as the military ruler of Nigeria (December 31, 1983 - August 27, 1985). In 1983, Major-General Buhari and Major-General Tunde Idiagbon were selected to lead the country by middle and high-ranking military officers after a successful military coup d'etat that overthrew civilian President Shehu Shagari on December. In 1985, Buhari was himself overthrown in a coup led by General Ibrahim Babangida on August 27th, and other members of the ruling Supreme Military Council (SMC) ostensibly, because he insisted on investigating allegations of fraudulent award of contracts in the Ministry of Defence. Buhari contested the Presidential election as the candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party on 2003. On 18th December 2006, Gen. Buhari was nominated as the consensus candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party. His main challenger in the 2007 April polls was th...

COULD THESE BE TRUE

Image
After the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) won the presidential poll, intensive internal campaigning has started over the formation of the cabinet of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari. Though some candidates have been marked down for definite offices, the selection of those to fill the sought-after “juicy” positions may not be an easy task, as powerful party members and others who gave Buhari support from outside the APC are pushing their own nominees. According to Daily Post, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, may have been offered the Ministry of Finance in the Buhari government by the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.   Soludo was a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo government prior to becoming the governor of the CBN. Many APC leaders are said to be against him. One of the reasons is that Soludo remains a card-carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance. The other is that it...
