Oliseh committee hearing moved for Egypt games

Former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh will no longer appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Sports until after the two African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Egypt in Kaduna and Alexandria later this month. The two games against the North Africans are billed for Kaduna on Friday, March 25 with the return game holding four days later in Alexandria.

FG to establish technology development bank

The Federal Government is in the process of establishing a science and technology development bank, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has said. Onu said this when he received the National Association of Motor Mechanics and Technicians led by its President, Mr. Suleiman Oseni, who paid him a courtesy call in Abuja on Monday.

Buhari condemns political violence in Rivers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday condemned the recent political violence in Rivers, saying the killing of people over political differences was primitive, barbaric and unacceptable. A statement issued in Abuja by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, noted that the President made this known at an interactive session with Nigerians living in Equatorial Guinea.

Six Seminarians Finally Laid to Rest.

The six Seminarians who were met with an untimely death in a road accident last month, were finally put to rest today. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord.....and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls Rest In Peace Amen. Our condolences to their families!

Killer of South African anti-apartheid hero to be freed on parole

The convicted killer of  South African  anti-apartheid leader  Chris Hani  will be freed on parole in two weeks after more than 20 years in prison, a  Pretoria  court ruled on Thursday. Janusz Walus  was serving a life sentence for the 1993 murder of Hani, a charismatic activist and politician who was both a senior member of the  African National Congress  (ANC) and the head of the South African Communist Party (SACP) when he was gunned down.

Presidential candidate calls global currency devaluations 'dangerous' for US

Republican  presidential candidate  Donald Trump  on Thursday blasted currency devaluations around the world for hurting the U.S. economy and costing  American  jobs, and defended his calls for a tougher U.S. stance on trade. Asked about the  European Central Bank 's decision on Thursday to cut interest rates, Trump told CNBC that such devaluations were driving manufacturing and other jobs outside of the  United States .
