ANOTHER SAD NEWS: Former US First Lady, Nancy Reagan Dies

America's previous first Lady, Nancy Reagan, has kicked the bucket of congestive heart failure, in her home in California.

The 94-year-old was eminent as a standout among the most persuasive first women in the United States' history, and her 52-year marriage to then President, Ronald Reagan, was once depicted as the US Presidency's most noteworthy relationship.


Responding to news of her passing, US President, Barack Obama, and first lady Michelle, said; "Nancy Reagan once composed that nothing could set you up for living in the White House. She was right, obviously. In any case, we had a head begin, since we were blessed to profit by her glad illustration, and her warm and liberal counsel."

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that he recollected that her as a respectable lady, who bolstered President Reagan, and remained close by, and would be recognized as an extraordinary companion to the condition of Israel.

The late Mrs Reagan will be covered beside her spouse, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, in Simi Valley, California.

NO MORE JAMB SCRATCH CARD FROM 2017 – Oloyede

Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyode said yesterday the board would abolish scratch cards to register for and check results, with effect from 2017. Oloyode, who spoke at the National Executive Council meeting of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in Abuja, said students would generate JAMB PIN number for themselves from their phone or computers before registering for examinations. He said the JAMB would not support a situation where banks and vendors hoard the cards, only to sell them at a higher price. The JAMB registrar challenged NASU to get involved in the ownership of Computer-Based Testing Centres, saying those who own the centres are businessmen merely exploiting students. He added that if academic-based stakeholders, such as NASU, own CBT centres, the board will be confident  the examinations will be conducted without hitch. Credit: Nation newspaper.
